Okay so Janeal and I have been talking and we just want everyone to be happy with what leg they are going to get so we have come up with some other options so look it over and let me know what you guys all think. Now remember everyone is going to probably end up with at least one hard leg in each of the legs that they are doing and also remember that you don't have to run them all at once we do get a bit of a break in between each leg so we can each get some sleep and food and just try to take it easy and get rested up for your next leg anyways here is what we have come up with this is not set in stone so just let us know what your thoughts are on this:
First Option:
Van #1
1-Martin/Mindy E.
2-Kelli
3-Mickele
4-Mindy V.
5-Mindy E/Martin
6-Shane
Mindy E. and Martin you guys talk this one over and let me know what you would rather do.
Van #2
7-Jackie
8-Amanda
9-Jay
10-Ryan
11-Janeal
12-Greg
K then Janeal came up with another idea and thought maybe we should do a girls/guys van we thought that might be kind of fun yes we do have one more girl then guy so one girl would end up with the guys so this is what we thought.
Van #1
1-Janeal/Mindy E.
2-Jackie/Kelli
3-Mickele
4-Mindy V.
5-Kelli/Jackie
6-Amanda
Jackie and Kelli you need to let me know what you think on these legs I really think either one of you could do either one.
Van#2
7-Greg
8-Mindy E/Shane
9-Jay
10-Ryan
11-Shane/Janeal
12-Martin
K Janeal said she would be in with the guys she doesn't mind and she will run Leg #11if she ends up with the guys so that would put shane Leg #8, or mindy E. we thought you might want to be with martin so if you end up with the guys then we figured you could do leg #8.
Anyways these are just some options please let me know what you guys think.
Shane I know you said you don't really want Leg #11 but I really think you could do it....Janeal you ran it last year is it really that hard could shane do it let us know.

As far as my legs: I am good with either. I could do #2 or #5, whichever one Kelly would rather not do. I am not particular, but I will look at them in more detail tonight.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Van options, I am good with either, but I am going to call Ryan and Amanda to see what they think and such. I like the ideas though - it is so hard to make everyone happy!
And last thing - I will have Greg post his comments, but I know he was already planning on running Leg 12, so he might be relieved at running Leg 7, or he might be up for switching too which could relieve one of the other guys if they switched them around a bit. Or leg 7 could be left to determine the month before the Ragnar (meaning whomever wasn't able to train as hard in Van 2 could take that one). So then you have a couple people training for harder ones, but there is a back-up of an easier one in case it is needed. Like I said though, I will have him comment on his stuff!
Yay for Ragnar - just remember either way it will be fun, and nobody is looking to win this thing (obviously), so don't be too worried!
Jackie that sounds good to me if we do it guys/girls, whoever has Leg #12 and Leg #7 can switch if they want or if we do the guys and girls van then I guess the guys can all talk and decide what they want to run.
ReplyDeleteAnyways I am up for either option I just need to hear what everyone else has to say and then we can make a decision.
test
ReplyDeleteHonestly it doesn't really matter to me, i will run whatever leg ya'll need me to, but we need to figure it out soon, so I can train properly.
ReplyDeleteNice Test!
ReplyDeleteMartin wanted me to post this. This is based off of the team starting at 8am and averaging 11 minute miles.

Thats cool it kind of tells you what time you would be running give or take cuz some ppl might be faster then the 11 minute miles and some might take longer then 11 minutes so hopefully it will average everyone out to be 11 minute miles.
ReplyDeleteShane, it's good to hear from you!!! I'm so glad you and Martin are running with us, you guys will be fun to have along! :) So, I was runner #11 last year and I think you could do it no problem. It was a huge challenge because the first leg is uphill, the second leg is long and the third leg is long and downhill. But it was so fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd you tell Martin that he better get his butt in gear if he wants to finish before 8pm! Just kidding, honestly, we won't finish that late, I promise! Last year, we were not a competetive team at all and we started at 7am and finished around 1pm. I believe we paced at just under a 10 minute mile overall. So, if we add an extra minute/mile on, that puts us finishing around 4pm. And come on now, maybe we'll be faster than you think! :)
I'm a big fan of all those options. Depending on our pace, we may end up with a race start time that's pretty early which is something to keep in mind for those folks in Van #1. The group in Van #2 does not have to be anywhere until the first major exchange point (#6). :)
Let's just pick straws? Really, I am okay with whatever you throw my way as long as it's not one of the three hardest legs :). But, yes, I agree with Shane, lets just decide so we can all start training.
ReplyDeleteAnd, once again, for the record, Martin is a MUCH better runner than I am. I'm sure a lot of you are! But, hopefully, I will be ready for my leg by June.
Wahoo Ragnar!!
AJ and I are fine running whatever legs we need to. However, we both feel strongly that about the couples vans. It was always our intention to run with each other and Greg and Jackie.
