I need your info!

All right guys and girls, we have about 3 months until the Wasatch Back. Now that you're all committed and ready to go, I need some more information from you guys. Feel free to email this to me... unless you'd like to post all your personal information for the world to potentially see.

Here's what I need from each person:
Name
Address
Phone Number
Gender
Email Address
Birthday
T-shirt size (options are Women's Small - XXLarge or Men's Small - XXLarge)
10k min/mile pace

Just in case you don't know, a 10k is 6.2 miles. They require this to try to get an estimate for getting a start time assigned to us. So, I don't need to know your 10k pace right now, but what you think your pace will be for June. Don't worry about taking into account hills or anything like that, just give me an average to the closest 15 seconds (i.e. 9:30 min/mile). They have a window of time that each section of the course is open, so they want to assign our start time accordingly so we don't end up getting ahead of the setup or too far behind. Although I am putting in this information now, I will send out an email to everyone in May with what you said your estimated pace in case you want to change it so don't worry if you're initial guess ends up not to be quite right. We have until May 15th to make changes! For the T-shirts, the shirts are the performance t-shirts (kinda spandexy), not the cotton ones. And also, after I get each of you set up, I will send you a link with a waiver you'll need to 'sign' (online).

All right, everyone have a great day!

Money, Money, Money

Okay so I totally forgot to mention in my last blog entry that if you have not paid Janeal for the ragnar you need to do that. If you need her address so you can mail her a check let me know or if you just want to bring me the money then I can take it to her you can do that also. The total is 100.00 dollars a person.

thanks

New Training Idea

To keep things interesting, I find adding some variation into running helps. So today I tried something new that I'd like to recommend in case anyone else is looking for a change. You do need some special equipment though, so here's the steps:
1) Stretch.
2) Find a desk or other piece of furniture on wheels weighing about 60 lbs.
3) Attach a small parachute to the furniture.
4) Go outside and push the furniture/parachute around your neighborhood while running for 3-4 miles.
Okay, so actually I just attempted to run with my kids in the double jogger with the sun visor up. I think they may be too heavy for the double jogger because it sucked. About a mile into it, I really felt like making them get out and walk. From now on the jogger is strictly for walks.

K, actually, I really do have a new workout. Mickele emailed me a treadmill workout a couple days ago that I tried out yesterday and it was GREAT. Really helped make the time go by so much faster since most of the time you are adjusting the speed of your treadmill; it sort of makes you forget your running (remember I said "sort of"). She probably emailed most of you this workout as well, but for anyone who missed it, I just thought I'd post it here:

Minutes.............................. Speed/MPH......When your in better shape

0-5………………………..3.5....................4.5

5-8………………………..4.0....................5.0

8-9………………………..6.0....................6.5

9-12………………………4.0....................5.0

12-13……………………..6.0....................6.5

13-16……………………..4.0....................5.0

16-17……………………..6.0....................6.5

17-20……………………..4.0....................5.0

20-22……………………..6.5....................7.0

22-25……….…………….4.0....................5.0

25-27……….…………….6.5....................7.0

27-30……….…………….4.0....................5.0

30-32……….…………….6.5....................7.0

32-35……….…………….4.0....................5.0

35-38……….…………….6.5....................7.0

38-41……….…………….4.0....................5.0

41-44……….…………….7.0....................7.5

44-47……….…………….4.0....................5.0

47-50……….…………….7.5....................8.0/8.5

50-53……….…………….4.5....................5.5

53-56……….…………….7.5....................8.0

56-60……….…………….4.5....................5.5

60-65……….…………….3.5....................4.5

When I did it, I only went for 40 minutes so I just followed it up to that point which worked out well since that's when the speed jumps up anyways.

Enjoy and Thanks Mickele for sending me this! :)

We have made a Decision!

Okay guys I have made a decision we are going with Option #1 this is who will be in what van and what everyone will be running:
Van #1
1-Martin/Mindy
2-Kelli
3-Mickele
4-Mindy V.
5-Mindy/Martin
6-Shane
Martin and Mindy you guys need to decide on who is running 1 and who is running 5 and then train accordingly.

Van#2
7-Jackie
8-amanda
9-Jay
10-Ryan
11-Janeal
12-Greg

K there you have it these are the legs we are running so everyone needs to train accordingly and remember we are not trying to win the race we are just doing this for fun and to keep in shape so if we have to walk some of it we have to walk, we are not expecting everyone to be able to run 9 or 10 minute miles and if there are some that run it in 11 to 12 minute miles thats okay cuz there are a few that will make up the difference so no worries just train the best you can.
Yay I can't wait this will be fun. K so I think as it gets closer we all need to get together so we can plan for this, Janeal and Jay have done this before so they will be a big help on what we will need to bring food wise, sleep wise and transportation wise.
Also we do need 3 volunteers we already have one Pat is going to be a volunteer so we just need 2 more so if anyone knows of anyone thats wants to help out that would be great.
K happy training and good luck!

More Suggestions on who has what Leg!

Okay so Janeal and I have been talking and we just want everyone to be happy with what leg they are going to get so we have come up with some other options so look it over and let me know what you guys all think. Now remember everyone is going to probably end up with at least one hard leg in each of the legs that they are doing and also remember that you don't have to run them all at once we do get a bit of a break in between each leg so we can each get some sleep and food and just try to take it easy and get rested up for your next leg anyways here is what we have come up with this is not set in stone so just let us know what your thoughts are on this:

First Option:
Van #1
1-Martin/Mindy E.
2-Kelli
3-Mickele
4-Mindy V.
5-Mindy E/Martin
6-Shane
Mindy E. and Martin you guys talk this one over and let me know what you would rather do.

Van #2
7-Jackie
8-Amanda
9-Jay
10-Ryan
11-Janeal
12-Greg

K then Janeal came up with another idea and thought maybe we should do a girls/guys van we thought that might be kind of fun yes we do have one more girl then guy so one girl would end up with the guys so this is what we thought.

Van #1
1-Janeal/Mindy E.
2-Jackie/Kelli
3-Mickele
4-Mindy V.
5-Kelli/Jackie
6-Amanda
Jackie and Kelli you need to let me know what you think on these legs I really think either one of you could do either one.

Van#2
7-Greg
8-Mindy E/Shane
9-Jay
10-Ryan
11-Shane/Janeal
12-Martin

K Janeal said she would be in with the guys she doesn't mind and she will run Leg #11if she ends up with the guys so that would put shane Leg #8, or mindy E. we thought you might want to be with martin so if you end up with the guys then we figured you could do leg #8.
Anyways these are just some options please let me know what you guys think.
Shane I know you said you don't really want Leg #11 but I really think you could do it....Janeal you ran it last year is it really that hard could shane do it let us know.

Running anyone?

Due to complete and total fear of the realization that the SLC Half Marathon is in just 2 more months, I've decided it's time to start running more than once/week. To accomplish this, I think I need some motivation. Fortunately, Mickele agreed with me both on the fear and the motivation issue, so we've decided to try to run together and want anyone and everyone to come join us if they'd like. Weather permitting (we're not hard core enough to run in 20 degree temps or blizzards), we're planning on getting together at the Bountiful High School track on Saturday's at 11am. If anyone wants to join us, please come! We're just going to jog around the track for awhile and then go home. Jackie, you've already mentioned you'll come so you're committed now. And Mindy V., Mickele also committed you so it looks like you have no choice! :) So if anybody else is local to the Bountiful area, or if not but you really like commuting, come join us next Saturday.

Otherwise, how is everyone else coming with their running progress? Mindy E, you and Martin seem to run a lot. How many times/week do you run and how far do you usually go? I still don't really have a plan but I think I should come up with one since 13.1 miles is just a long ways to go!
